Automatic Cat Litter Box - The Litter Box Of The New Generation

The traditional litter box usually includes cat litter material that cleans and disinfects the cat waste. The cat litter absorbs the moisture and eliminates the smelly odor. Handling of the treated waste, however, can be very inconvenient for the pet owner. The automatic cat litter box is very different from other litter boxes. It is, in fact, literally a high-tech litter box.

The treated waste is scooped up from the litter box and placed into a sealed plastic for proper disposal. Sometimes, the cat litter fails to completely eliminate the waste odor which is very repulsive for the pet owner, especially if the pet owner is sensitive about odors. There is also the problem with the resulting dust after moisture absorption of the cat litter. Some pet owners can be allergic to dusts and manual scooping of the treated waste can be a problem.

The automatic cat litter box available in the market usually has an automatic scooping mechanism that will save the pet owner from outright contact with the cat waste or cat litter box. It works by raking off the treated cat waste from the litter box into a disposable waste bin. The pet owner then only needs to dispose and replace the waste bin.

The automatic cat litter box also has its own sensor to be able detect a cat whenever it needs to release waste. The scooping mechanism then starts at about a few minutes depending on the time period set by the pet owner. One problem usually experienced in these kinds of automatic cat litter box is when a person owns more than a single pet cat. The first cat may release feces, and the other may urinate right after. If these happen within the set period before the scooping mechanism, the waste combined with the urine will clump together and may block the rakes in the automatic cat litter box.
